Guerschon Yabusele: "Everyone Enjoyed the Incredible Atmosphere"
The French national basketball team delivered a stellar performance in a crucial game against Finland, securing a dominant 98-69 victory in Pau. This win allows the "Bleus" to approach the second round of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers with confidence. Guerschon Yabusele shared his positive impressions of the game in an interview with L'Équipe.
"We took them seriously, and we had to defend hard and attack hard. We set the tempo on defense, we had fast breaks, and we made our job easier by grabbing rebounds and playing fast. We played as a team, everyone enjoyed the incredible atmosphere. The most important thing was to finish first in this group, which we did. Now, we'll focus on the next window in August."
As captain during the last EuroBasket, Yabusele also praised the contribution of Maxime Raynaud. The young Kings' big man impressed in his first call-ups to the senior French team, notably scoring 16 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in the recent game.
"New guys like Maxime Raynaud are truly ready, focused, and eager to learn. Having a big man like him, who arrives and is already prepared, is quite incredible for us. He will be very important for us."
