Strasbourg Signs Greek League Interior Player
SIG Strasbourg has secured another interior player for the upcoming season, following the recent signing of Sam Alajiki. Jakob Forrester will join the Alsace-based team, making his debut in the Betclic Élite.
Like many recent recruits, Forrester completed his college career in the NCAA. However, his statistics weren't sufficient for the NBA, leading him to pursue opportunities in Europe.
His European career has seen rapid progress. In just two years, he moved from the second division of German basketball to the Eurocup, where he played in the 2025/26 season with Aris, averaging 5 points and 3.3 rebounds. The previous year, he played for PAOK, competing in the BCL, a competition he will now participate in with SIG.
Coach Janis Gailitis commented on the signing: "We have high expectations for Jakob. We are aware of his past achievements, but he needs to improve his daily consistency. He is a very committed player who can facilitate his teammates' game. With this, he can express his full potential, and the team will also benefit."
